Home Intro For participants 2007 About the book Order form Contact

In an effort to prevent this famous renewal of the race, on its centenary anniversary, from falling into oblivion, we have decided to prepare a modern narrative about the journey of the cars from Peking to Paris in 2007, hopefully with your assistance as well. So, kindly pay attention to this appeal.

Appeal to the participants in the car race
PEKING-PARIS 2007

Each of you who finished that race and passed its many thousands of kilometres in the past 30 days certainly carried away many impressions, experiences and recollections. You are now invited to choose your very best adventure, impression, experience or recollection, briefly describe it and give me your permission to publish it in the forthcoming book. In this way, you will become my contributors and indeed co-authors whose names - naturally with your kind consent and permission - I would like to publish on the cover of the book - "Across the World by Car - from Peking to Paris in 30 Days".

I am positive that the more short stories we have, the more attractive the whole book will be, eventually turning into a permanent diary or chronicle for all of you, a genuine document recording your brave endeavours to master the route from Peking to Paris in 2007.

To send your stories, kindly use any of the options given below:
email address: posta@jiricerny.cz
Fax No.: +420 222 724 611
or ordinary mail address: Jiří V. Černý, U Kanálky 1, 120 00 Prague 2, CZ

Your can brighten up your story with some interesting data and information on your car (e.g. its history) and, if you deem appropriate, eventually some facts about the members of your crew (for instance, other finished races, long-distance drives and similar events at your discretion).

With your kind permission your story will be edited and possibly supplemented with an eventual photo. In view of the short deadline set for the publication of the book we won't be sending your finished story for authorization, hoping you will be satisfied with the final version.

The deadline for receiving your stories is August 31, 2007 since I would like the book to be published in November 2007 and be ready to become an exclusive Christmas or New Year gift.

The participants in the 2007 Peking to Paris Race are expected to receive an exclusive limited edition of 550 copies of the book. Each copy will be numbered, carrying the actual starting number of the relevant participant. If you happen to send in your story from the race, you will be entitled to an automatic 20% discount from the price of this limited series. The book will be published in English.
